However, this season, he has not made himself available to United due to injury issues. Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar’s men have done quite well without the Frenchman for the majority of the season. Despite struggling without creativity in the initial stages, they have managed to reach 5thspot in the league standings.

The Red Devils have a plethora of midfield talents in their ranks. Fred and Scott McTominay have improved a lot under the Norwegian’s guidance. While the Scotsman was out for a while, Nemanja Matic did a decent job and looks to have improved.

The manager then signed Portuguese ace Bruno Fernandes to provide creativity in their attacking system. The former Sporting Lisbon man has repaid the faith Solskjaer showed on him by bringing life into United’s dull attack. He has scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists in 8 games for the club and looks set to claim a spot for himself the starting XI.

Man u legend insist to start James garnar

Date: March 03, 2020

Manchester United fans want Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to give midfielder James Garner more chances in the first team.

Garner has been outstanding in the Academy this season, scoring nine goals in twelve matches, but his first team opportunities have been limited to six games, including three Europa League starts and an 8-minute Premier League cameo against Norwich City in October.

The 18-year-old produced another magnificent display for the Under 23’s yesterday, scoring two goals and dominating the midfield as United beat Stoke City 3-2 at the Bet 365 stadium.

His latest performance has prompted fans to take to social media to demand to see Garner given a chance to impress in Thursday’s FA Cup tie against Derby County.

‘Start him against Derby alongside Fred and he will be fine. He doesn’t panic and likes to find forward passes.’

‘I recommend Garner should play in the FA Cup against Derby on Thursday’

‘Give him a chance in the F. A. Cup game against Derby’.

‘He is the best youth prospect we have’

Many fans also believe that Garner deserves a more permanent first team squad place.

‘Should have been promoted when McTominay was out’

‘He obviously needs game time’

‘Send Lingard & Pereira there. Bring Garner to main team’

Reason why David de gea should leave old Trafford

Manchester United are ready to consider goalkeeper David de Gea’s future at the club this summer after growing concerned with his mentality, according to one report.

The Spaniard has made a number of costly mistakes this season, the latest of which came in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Everton when he decided to just kick the ball straight at Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who was given what felt like an eternity to close down the season

Obviously, that’s not good. But what’s worse is that it was his seventh mistake which has cost the red devil’s  goal since the start of last season – no player has made more in that timeframe.

Club officials are said to have concerns about his waning concentration and general level of performance of their four-time Player of the Year.

They already had to suffer through an abysmal run of form from  the stopper last season, and it is thought that the Spaniard might have lost himself more than few fans because of his penchant for making life harder than it needs to be.

To make matters worse, De Gea has had to sit and watch 22-year-old Dean Henderson shine on loan this season.

United have been keeping a keen eye on the youngster’s progress, and they are set to hold talks with the Blades over the coming

He said: “Yeah, in the brief moments that I have seen him in training, he has looked really, really good. He has looked like every type of player that the manager wants as well, so hopefully that can come to us on the pitch and he can show us what he can do. I can’t wait to play alongside him.”

Bruno Fernandes is likely to link up with Fred and Nemanja Matic in midfield but the fans of the Red Devils would hope that McTominay and Paul Pogba play alongside Fernandes before the end of the season as they aim to reach their goal of finishing in the top Four of this season’s Champions League.

Barcelona set to sign in this striker

Barcelona has been granted to opportunity to make an emergency signing by the Spanish Football Federation and La Liga despite the close of the regular transfer window.

Barcelona was given permission on Monday to make an emergency signing and have 15 days to complete a transfer.

The injury to Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele has given the La Liga champions the chance to make an emergency signing and the Camp Nou directors are set to bring Martin Braithwaite to the Camp Nou for a fee of €18 million.

The Leganes forward and Barcelona are set to agree to a three-and-a-half-year deal that runs until the summer of 2023.

It would be a surprise if Barcelona seal a deal for Braitwaite, 28, a player that was playing in the English Championship just two seasons ago before moving to Leganes.

Manchester: martial is not a striker

The ex-Red Devils coach feels Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to tinker with his attacking plans while also finding more leaders in the middle of the park

United  have been told that Anthony Martial “is not a No.9, he is not a striker”, with Steve McClaren claiming that the Red Devils need better balance in their side and more leaders.

Issues in the final third of the field have been a source of concern for those at Old Trafford throughout the 2019-20 campaign.

Having taken the decision to part with Romelu Lukaku, an alternative approach has been taken in the attacking department.MORE TEAMS

Martial and Marcus Rashford have both led the line at times, while also operating in wider roles.

while Sir Alex Ferguson’s former assistant has also suggested that United lack a commanding presence in the middle of the park.

I think this is where he’s been struggling in this midfield and its blend and balance,” McClaren told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

“It’s square pegs in square holes, round pegs in round holes. At the moment [Andreas] Pereira, who I’ve seen play as a No 10, is he a holder?

Fred is getting better, more confident, but he likes to roam around. They’ve got nobody like a [Roy] Keane sat in there.

“Absolutely [Scott McTominay] could do that but he still goes and wanders, but at least he’s got the physicality to get around. So they’re missing somebody in there.

United have signed [Bruno] Fernandes who they think is their No 10. A key role when you’re playing that kind of system.

“[Juan] Mata, great player. Best position? Don’t know, don’t know. Winger? No. James is still a young player finding his legs and the key one is Martial.

The frenchman player is not a No 9, he is not a striker. All his goals, all his best moments are on that left-hand side. Whether that’s outside left or whether that’s inside left, that’s where he plays.

“He cannot play down the middle on his own.”

The first job is to get them characters of leadership, or people who can become leaders, back in at Old Trafford, back on that training ground.

“Because the inconsistency is an inconsistency of training day to day, Monday to Friday, where you need leaders continuously, continuously setting standards.

“When I look at that back four, [David] de Gea, [Wan-Bissaka] tremendous signing, [Victor] Lindelof getting better, [Harry] Maguire perfect, [Luke] Shaw, and the young boy [Brandon] Williams behind him is also a very, very good player.

“So the back five nice and solid and strong, what a base. You start from that, great base.”
